just bits of a little poem that’s kind of old. pretty much what inspired the name of the pacts EP, “dismantle, reverse”. the second verse is freestyled.

well i caught my body aging sometime last week. I sank deeper into sheets, buried under june and how badly I longed to fall asleep. it’s etched like stone into my head, the way we used to speak. we built promises of mountains, our voices echoed from the peaks. constructed empathetic homes just to tear them all to pieces. oh, each and every sentiment and each and every word, we’d dismantle and reverse, yeah we’d dismantle and then we’d reverse.
well caught my ship setting sail back home, a place i never really felt compelled to go. over time i’ve learned that leaving is a double edged sword, one side action and one side word. one side thinking of what could never be, and the other side thinking the exact same thing. but darling please believe me when i say i’ve been set free, i don’t want to feel a thing for all these things that i’ve been leaving. i don’t want to feel a thing for all these things that i don’t need. i don’t feel safe anymore.
